Back from my thailand trip! Shall let e pics do most of the summary, here goes:

ever beautiful clouds

Erawan shrine after it was destroyed and the train station...

the local bus station..

saw this while roaming about the bus station, look at its 'pillow' and look juz how tired this poor fellow is..

view of phitsanuluk, its local market...

stalls...

in their air con bus and non-aircon mini bus..

'chinaran' temple...

coach to chiang mai..the 7hr ride on this bus was the worst of my life! supposedly the bus to chiang mai, it sort of became the local public transport, it kept stopping and ppl boarded and alighted throughout the journey..the seats are so hard and i had a stiff neck later plus a headache..=X

rented a bicycle each the next day to explore the area..but we didnt get far coz the traffic was too heavy so we ended up in small alleys most of the times, and dats where we discovered quite a number of second hand bookstores..

luv this pic..can u imagine travelling on a road when u can see the mountains ahead of u all the time..luv it!

on our way up to the mountains..

Bhuping palace, they really have got beautiful flowers there..never seen so many different coloured flowers growing on the same plant..
this place was so misty, really couldnt see the road ahead of us and they had to sound the siren to warn the villagers of the mist ahead..

the temple on the mountains, the view of the city up there is splendid!
went to six tribes, one cave, orchid farm and the recycling of elephant dung 'factory' the next day...

yes, elephants are vegetarian so its only logical dat the lots of fibre in their dung can be recycled to make paper..=P Their ppl are really creative and innovative man!..i was amazed that dung was boiled and steamed then dried and so on...

The tribes we visited..

chiang dao cave!..it was totally dark and u literally cant see ur own fingers in front of u..but our grp rented the kerosene lamp so in we went!..there were lots of lots of bats in the cave, occasionally flying about..and the thing is we had to go through 3 holes to reach the end and we practically have to crawl through coz the hole was so small..i was initially worried for my dad but he eventually made it (he's e oldest inthe grp)!..*applause...but i would say this was really an experience for us and i really like it..=P
went elephant trekking, waterfall and bamboo raftng the next day..it was total FUN!

the elephant trekking was another experience...but after the ride i realised how poor thing the elephants are..if not for tourism they wouldnt have to suffer like this too. its becoz of tourism that these elephants are being exploited.

the waterfall...

the bamboo rafting was really the best! happily seated myself comfortably when the first rapids came and our whole butt was soaked! then there were elephants and more tribes along the banks of the river..there was even a point when the whole raft was submerged in the water, but it was so fun!...me trying to lift my butt high up in the air when we reached each rapids and all..really fun! but there was a point where the current was kind of dangerous so we all had to get off and walk till a certain point then we got back onto the raft..(we had to leave all our staff including my camera and slippers in the mini van coz if not they will certainly all get wet, so i couldnt take any pics)...
Went back to visit Doi Suthep (temple on the mountains) and the Hmong tribe on our last day at Chiang Mai...

Returning back to Hmong tribe brings back memories coz i was there once in 1998 and the place has changed quite alot...(we spent an hour exploring the place)
They used to plant poppy flowers for the use of opium but they do not now..only leaving some behind for tourist to view..
Returned back to bangkok by coach the next day...
Went to J.J market over the weekends, wholesale market at chinatown and MBK..

the pet section at J.J market..

We were also very very lucky as we got the chance to participate in the opening ceremony of the Erawan Shrine...it was so extremely crowded that i was so afraid there might be a stampede..
oh yes, and i met doris and her bf at the 7-11 opp the hotel we were staying in and we happen to stay in the same hotel too (so coincidental)..=P plus plus i even met Chan LAi Huat (OE lecturer)there !!! it was realli OMG when i saw him, so unbelievable....
